Unforgiving Tides of Night

Forgive me, faire and beautiful Night-

That I am vulgar, mortal, and savage; seized by passionate instinct to
embrace both this darkness and light with delicate kisses so near your
heart- and be swept up into the rapture of such tides that wash away the
mortal debris from the soft sands of unconquered beaches- to yield up some
secrets lain in the deep dark and turbulent seas; of pearl within a living
shell, of pieces of prow and hull that yield only mysterious temptation of
what lies beneath the allure of vast oceans and gulfs ...

Lay me down in cold beds, alive-

Drown in this embrace that shivers me mortally with the hot desperation-
gathered into the tangle of body and limb, tethered to the bottom among such
wonders of living corale and exotic creatures never before seen by the eyes
of any other ...

Devour me whole-

Until I am beyond any other care, and become that some other part of you
laid down deep inside- consume my hapless body slowly and let thy spirit
cover o'er me with new life ...

Let my eyes close up inside of you-

And become some small part of your legend and somesuch mortal salt dissolved
into the vast and dark kingdoms of your heart- crown my head the living
laurel and fill my chest with incessant waves ...

Let my spirit swim with dolphins-

Possessed of some preter-natural ecstatic joy to erupt higher up into the
air, and tumbled like a child, splashed back into the depths of your embrace
...

Let your heart become my natural element-

Let our souls become one, and inundate the night with rising waves stretched
out o'er once dry places. Let us recede with the dawn into a calmer
retreat of what new life our dreams might create in the depths of one
another ...

Where nothing can disturb our eternal sleep-

Save for Mother Moon; that awakens us anew, with a sudden surge of playful
restlessness- and tempt one another further to roll across the fresh and dry
sands of such places unknown to man ...

Let our waters draw and trickle back-

Like playful little giggles of mischievious children that provoke the fears
of mankind with dark mysteries lurking in our depths- as the natural becomes
supernatural ...

Let them tremble as our waters begin to rise.
