Innocence is only temporary
as smoldering lies begin to surface
contorting your view of the world
only a little light seeps through
lost in a cold, damp place
you wander endlessly
where nonsense is reality
the flash of eyes scares you
as does the reaching of hands
run through the feild of corpses
as you continually tell yourself
"I know I'm not insane"
cover the bleeding gashes
and the bruises of love
with a mask of pure hatred
only sensible through your mind
silently withdrawn
from prying, loving eyes
burning holes in your skin
from caring and unknown cries
your speed begins to slow
the grasp on life tightens
turn to join the dead
there is no use in fighting
