Round Every Corner

Round every corner lurks a cloud,
Yet round the next awaits the light,
Round every corner there’s a star,
Though shadowed by eternal fright.

Round every corner there’s a tear,
But a smiling face indeed looms near,
To unlock a further hopeful door,
This turning key we do not hear.

But those few who see this door ajar,
And follow its beckoning glow,
Shall see that life is just too short,
To mourn the past and accept life’s blow.

For round every corner someone dies,
Yet evermore they shall remain,
Smiling eternally in our hearts,
As death itself by love is slain.

And round every corner there’s the power,
Lying inside of you,
So look with your heart deep into your soul,
And you’ll see you can beat it too.

Endless is all that you could do,
With a heart of love and an unwavering dream,
For life is eternal within those hearts,
Who have learnt of existence and whose incentives do gleam.

So when you pass round that corner black as night,
Just remember there’s a star,
Right there with you in all who you are,
However close, however far.
