“My Disease”
Tear out the fangs from my skull
bleed my venom until I am dry
peel off my old skin and fit me
fit me with something that is new
come in let me draw you close to my chest
wrap my arms around you so you can feel my disease
stare into my shifting eyes and try to snare their gaze
searching always for a dark corner to hide in
a warm face to confide confide inside
you were the chest that I buried my head in
you were the skin I clenched and cried on
and when I ran I ran I ran away from my mind
there I found you at the end of the hall
standing wearing my coat and opening your arms
and I would come into you and draw myself close to your chest
wrap my arms around you and let you feel my disease
the sickness lifting from my body as your love replaced it
like a cancer I felt there was no cure for me
a life without love
only lust to fill my primary needs
needs that were ever expanding with each
and every passing lover
each one meant less to me than the last one did
and slowly they infected me and poisoned my skin
now I draw you in tightly to my chest
wrap my arms around you so we can both feel my disease
as it alleviates as it alleviates
you became my disease
killed what I had once been
and gave life to the person that I was trying to be
you are my disease
you are my blessing
you are the cure to me
to my disease……
