lost in thought

the sun sets out across a sea of perpetual motion
with its waves of illusive fire licking the shoreline
as if with a lone purpose of ridding itself of its affliction
to pass on its burden to the rocks upon which it crashes
but the sun soon falls below the far horizon
and with it goes the burning tide; flames extinguished

the water, like glass now, reflects all that resides above
a mirror to the moon, the stars . . . the celestial beauties
i begin to count the stars and with each one comes a thought of you
soon realizing that, the sky couldn't possibly hold
every ideation of you, passing through my mind
