This world is spinning
At a rate so precise
That we cannot say
It will ever stop time.
I sometimes wish
For once my prayers will be answered
To create a pause that afternoon
When you smiled that last time.
They found you alone
Fallen, your face touching the ground.
You didn't deserve this fate
Nor did your fragile soul
There may not have been a visual faith
In which you held of a God
But, within yourself was a faith
Our minds could only aspire in dreams;
Which was all that mattered.
These years have now become harder
Yet, we still speak your name
In the tragic darkness
That swallowed our pride
And shattered our hearts.
All this pain was meant for you
In a sense of a once pointless,
And senseless,
Life.
So, as I watch the world spin
And the time continue
I will remember your smile
And remain haunted by your touch.
Dedicated to Tammy Jobes, we will always love you -- 1986 - 2004
