save you

Come inside me,
There’s a rug inside my door,
Take your shoes off before you step all over my heart
And the hook to the right
Lay your coat there,
You don’t need to drop it upon my cold shoulders
It’s a false attempt at love

Turn off the lights and pull the shades
To shut out you’re faking eyes and faking smile
I’m sorry I hid my hands behind my back
Each time you reached for me

I know it’s not real
I know I’m gonna wake soon
Finish the story
Turning another page each day
I wanna know the end

I wanna know the ending before you turn t he last page
I wanna make sure I have an unbrella
The day you break my heart
The day you bring on my rain,

Cause a girl like me
Can’t take the rain, she’s not ready for that pain
She can’t get up when she’s down
She waits for hand to pull her to her feet,
She lets him walk her uphill struggle

She’ll blame him for each minute she cant sleep
And each time it hurts when she’s breathing
She blames him for every time she fails
And each step she can’t take
Each time it hurts, she begs him to pull the knife from her back
And for each tear that falls to the ground,
She blames him because he wasn’t there to catch it
Every time someone’s frowning,
She scolds him, because he forgot to turn that frown upright

Before she pulls him to his knees
He tells her, “ All I want to do is save you”
Saying, I have your heart in the palm of my hands
I have your head eye level
And your lips upon mine

She says, wake up before me,
Find another place to go
