Uncertainty

Light spilling through the break,
Failing with every breath I take.
Melting through ices exceedingly thick,
Wounds so deep they make me sick.
The night black as black can get
A future of which I cannot see just yet
The glitter of a thousand twinkling stars,
Lighting a path that is not yet ours.
Uncertainty is lurking there,
A fear of not knowing that we all must share.
The rain pours down with unmatched grace
An incessant patter when it strikes your face.
A dawn of a new era just outside,
Try as you might, you just can’t hide.
Emotions of another dawn
So spectacular it could have only been drawn
Find that nothing is real
Nothing to see, nothing to feel.
Life is just a well-wrought lie.
Fall to your knees, leave out a bitter sigh.
Light spilling through the break,
Failing with every breath I take.
Melting through ices exceedingly thick,
Wounds so deep they make me sick.
There is nothing for you here,
Only fear…
