Dad,

I'm sorry that I'm such a failure to you.
I'm sorry that I wont get as far as you.
I'm sorry that I didn't do as well as you.
I'm sorry for being me.

I'm sorry that I tried.
I'm sorry that I cared.
I'm sorry that I once succeeded.
I'm sorry that I'm not anymore.

I'm sorry that you argue with me.
I'm sorry that you taunt me.
I'm sorry that you yell at me.
I'm sorry you had to.

I'm sorry that you think it's the only way
In your mind to make it straight...
To put me back together again
when in truth the pieces you are getting misplaced.

I'm sorry that I follow God the right way.
I'm sorry that you relate that to my SCHOOL grades.
I'm sorry that I'm crying now.
Why not just take my life and make it fade?
I'm not good enough anyways to you.

I'm sorry that you thought that Daddys' Little Girl was supposed to be
perfect.
