I'll pull the blanket up

i drift off to sleep
dreamlessly surrendering to the night
giving in to all
we sleep
waking i do not disturb you

i stare
at my mommy

as time passes
i grow wearey
lonely
longing for company

why are you still asleep

mommy wake up
i notice you are still so cold
i push and pull you
wake up
with a final push
your head rolls towards me
eyes open
staring
but you are not there
then i realize
