As you were

You are the one thorn that pricked the finger
And encouraged the open wounds
Fake the scabs
And fake the bleed
Your words helped me decorate this paper with my insides

Your were my single shining star
As single bird screams during the night
The sunset is smeared across the canvas

Follow the dotted line
And cut me out of this one
Like you haven’t already

I love you
But don’t say it
No one is listening
SCREAM IT!

You love to watch me collapse
Just pretend you love
And you can stay awhile

And I’ll breathe while I still can

GO
FAKE
As you were
Fake is what you do with your smile
Everything is fine on the outside

And as you know
Bleeding is a virtue
