He said well I forgot to say goodbye last night
Thought of her later laying alone in the dark
Thought tomorrow this thing will get better
Wondering if she was laying there colder than ice
Her heart drained, her dreams flushed

She came up to me
6:55 the next morning
Crawled into bed with me,
Told me she was so blue
Said hold me I don’t want you to go away
Said she didn’t have anyone to fall into

He said I remember lying there
But I didn’t remember her crying
Told them he didn’t often pay attention
Said the stars were a more dazzling sight

She spent twenty minutes in his arms
Felt like the hole night
She pondered her thoughts
Can you really fall in 2 weeks
How soon will he let me down

He left her with a kiss
And a four-digit number
He told her, call me and tell me your every problem
Call and tell me why you’re so sad
And why you’re so low to the ground
Call me when you can’t find your best friend
You know I don’t mind second best

She told him,
You know I’ll be here
You know I’m gonna stay
She said I can’t take one more day
Of being lonely
