Lucky Charms

I started by picking them out, one by one
I had the whole box in front of me
along with two bowels
as I picked through marshmellows and crunchies
all I could think about was the result of all my hard work
when I was done sorting I threw the bowel with crunchies away
with nothing but a super-sized bowel of marshmellows left
I grabbed a spoon and milk
mom questions my intentions
but I just smile and proceed
I take my time
savoring each bite
after what seems like forever
I look down and notice the bowel looks untouched
as the pain in my gut enlarges
I realize I must stop
sadly I empty my left overs into the garbage
and except the fact
I will not want anymore lucky charms
for a really long time.
