Somehow I led myself to believe
That this would last
That you were here forever
Somehow I allowed myself to give in
To your sweet words
To your beautiful promises
Somehow I let the wall fall down
So you could touch my heart
So I could fall in love again
Somehow my heart opened to you
With hope and without fear
With freedom and without caution
Somehow the promises you made
Were forgotten and dismissed
Were overshadowed by anger and pain
And somehow my heart crumbled
When I swore I wouldn't let it
When you promised you would never break it
