Crystal water,
Drops glittering in the sunlight.
A spectrum of color,
Rushing in; receding in fright.
Cold spay of salt,
Warm summer breeze.
The ocean is my haven,
With a white-sand beach.
When the light fades to dark
And the roaring waves settle.
When the temperature drops.
And the day’s heat loses its ripple.
Ever more the waves come to shore
Seeking for something they cannot reach.
The ocean is my haven,
With a white-sand beach.
Dawn is on the horizon,
Cries of gulls fill the air.
But down where I lie,
Only death is there.
I lie beneath the water,
‘Neath the flat-mirror sea
The ocean is my haven.
And forevermore will be.
