Black Roses

I’ve been to several funerals ,
And I’ve seen the flowers there,
And among the pretty colors,
There Is a color that is always spared.

There are colors of great beauty,
And many of great tact,
But among the vast arrangement,
We seem to have forgotten black.

Why don’t they sell black roses?
For funerals and even Valentine’s Day,
To think about it black is unique,
In every possible way.

The color black may send a message,
Of darkness and hidden things,
But black is a color of greatness,
In many human beings.

To me, black is a beautiful color,
Frowned upon by many,
But truly black is magnificent,
A greater color than any.

Why is it that when we choose a color,
For a car or a simple pair of pants,
We see black as dark and deadly,
Next time, give it a chance.

I believe if they sold black roses,
They would be the most popular shade,
For it is when all the colors are combined,
Is when the color black is made.
