Death At Your Door

People filled with tired and gloom,
One day it might lead them to their doom,
Sometimes I feel like one of these people,
Talking so quietly not even unspeakable.

Some people don't think their first step might be their last,
Many of their dreams coming alive from the past,
Death is a wish that some people desire,
Others ignore it and keep looking for higher.

What would you do if the Grim Reaper came knocking?
Would you run away fast or just keep on walking?
Just think of how many ways you could die,
Falling asleep and no one hears you cry.

Ignoring the true fact that death is calling,
You jump down a cliff and just keep on falling,
Waiting for the day of your life to end,
Just one other day of walking around the bend.

Should I go left or should I go right,
It's the choices you make that might show you the light,
Screaming, crying, and begging for mercy,
Other show this reaction or just give it a curtsy.

As you can see your life can be short,
Please don't ignore this witty retort,
Death is a burden that you're going to get,
Just keep yourself safe or you will regret.
