Sick of Sitting

we sit here, straining our eyes
as we watch the dandelions fly by
the wishes they hold
the secrets they've been told
if I could just grab a handful
and scream out my caged soul
only they would know

we sit here,
talking about the future as the cars speed by
one for each tear ive shed
all these cries caused by what you said
if I could just halt the cars
put them back on the assembly line
everything would be fine

we fight here
raging words and names of fury
we scream here
our sentences broken and blurry
resolving is just so distant
like the fading sunset

hopes forgotten
dreams misplaced
nothing has been the same since you have gone away

I lie here
alone and broken
replaced,
all my cries and words unspoken
bundle them up
toss them into the lake
give them a goodbye kiss for luck

we fight here
raging words and names of fury
we scream here
our sentences broken and blurry
resolving is so distant
like the fading sunset
