Dreaming of You Alone

I see you standing there, beautiful.
Your hair flowing down your scalp over your forehead,
You are so pure, so wonderful, so perfect.

Love me, kiss me. Want me back.
I smell your sweet skin, so fresh and alive.

Do you see me? Am I in the same white light as you?
Do I have your wings? Or am I in a shadow?

Your soft hands reach up and grab a pear from the tree,
Your naked body so free in the surrounding air.

Everything begins to fade slowly,
I open my eyes to see you with a knife above my chest,
Oh how you've changed.
