Staring down into the wishing pool
I find no wish too sorry or hopeful
I don’t want to waste a worthy dime
On a single wish, to me that is a crime
I think hard on a meaningful desire
Something I need or perhaps admire
The thing I want most, most of all
But nothing comes to me and I stall
There must be a wish for me to wish
Aha!! How could I be so foolish?
I close my eyes tight and cast my dime
I wish to wish a better wish next time
