Suffer in Silence

You've been crying again,
I see it in your eyes,
drained of their color,
their natural beauty.
Paler everyday,
growing colder yet,
as you embrace the tears,
and lose another hue.
Another drop down your cheek,
you forgot to wipe away,
you removed the imperfection,
but the stain still remains,
your constant reminder,
your unforgiving flaw,
of what you've thrown away,
thinking it wasn't much,
that it had no affect on you,
that it wasn't worth keeping.
But now you've felt the pain,
and the tears that came with it.
You know you choose that path,
and you try to stay strong,
try to hide the tears,
but I can see you weakening.
Soon you'll try to go back,
no one can hold it for that long,
no matter how hard they try,
or how strong they are.
But you still see if you can,
keeping it suppressed,
while I count the time,
your strength fails.
But until then,
you suffer in silence...
