The Gleaming Blade

Sitting in the dark alone
Tears are running down your pale face
You’re wondering what had happened,
Wanting to know why
What did you do wrong?
You manage to utter, “Why can’t anyone tell me why.”
No one has the answers though
And you know this well
For you’re the only one,
That knows them all.

You said that this was the one,
The only lover that loved you back
He said that he’d be there forever
Do the things that you need,
And give whatever your heart desired.
But one thing always seems to stay the same
As time went on you fell apart
What happened to the true love?
What happened to “his” forever?

Tears form into wandering rivers around you,
Dirty tissue lay in piles forming mountains
Rainfalls from the sky collect into thick black puddles
Thick and tacky
They mat up to your skin
Holding you to the floor,

In the center of this wretched world lay you motionless
Parents weeping in the corner
Screaming why
Pleading to God,
All they want is their beloved daughter back,

That is the one thing that they can’t have
For in that puddle lay the gleaming blade
That took their daughter away.

Poets Note.. Well if any of you noticed, this is a poem that I wrote a very
very long time ago. It has been one of my favorites, so I reworded it and
revised more and I feel it came out better then it once was. So I guess you
could call this one of my old "classics" remixed. Wow that was just..
