Tainted Bloom

A rose blooms
And turns black
Is it tainted by life?
The melancholy has just begun
The darkness of the world surrounds it
I sit and watch it
And sigh and empty sigh
What has the world become
I can’t help but wonder
Am I a bloom turned black
Is life what tainted me
Or did I taint myself
Am I an evil reincarnated
Am I the devil HERSELF

I silently and breathlessly pick up the knife
I hold it lovingly in my hand
Carefully I slice my hand
And let the dark red nectar drip on to my bloom

And slowly whisper “I Love You”
