an outsider observing:
the sharing of an incipient stare
of two who are entire strangers.
the gaze incredulously,
sharing a fleeting moment of beauty.
a tiny thought of love moves,
first the feet, then the mind.
he approaches her,
but as he does, she's running.
she looks back once,
to nourish the ravenous man behind;
he sees tears of rationality gather along her chin.
