Memories of those days back in high school
Seeing their faces in my mind
Of people who cared nothing
Of friends who weren't mine

Lies and deception are what comprised of my days.
Wanting to be something better
Something greater in too many ways

It's hard to remember all the hardships we all faced
The laughing, and pointing, it's hard to keep pace.
I'm so glad that it's over, but never far from my heart. Seared
into my being, never leaving, never to part.

I wish things were different, maybe do it all again. Start on a fresh
feeling, not on old trends. Pretending is encouraged, cover who we are. For
those with the courage, to fight, to be the star.

What would you say
To those that you dreamed,
Of facing in futures where you were the king.

Thinking that the time is bound to our floor. The future is present,
let's go to war.

Now I am older, and thinking ahead
Forgetting ancient history, rather, putting it to bed. Expel it from memory,
leave it in the dark. Away from a family, who knew from the start.

But that is what's best, that they do it for you. never asking a
question, always seeming so new. They don't care for the person that I
might have been. They love for the being that holds them close, within...

So what would you say
To those people that you dreamed
of facing in futures where you were the king.

Thinking that time was bound to the floor. This future held present, ready
for war.
