I wait for this war to be over
I wait to see your smiling face
Over all the shouts and laughter
I wait to hear the way you talk
I wait to see you
I wait for you to look at me
Like you always used to
I guess i waited just a little too long
Because now you are gone
I got the door
I fell to the floor
I started to cry
I waited for you to die
And as this war continues
I still hear the screams and shouts
I still remember the way you laughed,
Smiled, and walked about
I wonder were you are right now
I waited for you too far from now
Now your waiting for me
To go off overseas
And finally join you
You are now not waiting for me
anymore.
