Standing silent at the window
Watch as the rain steadily falls
I think of my lacerated heart
Slow tears begin to flow from my sunken eyes
The rain perfectly refelcts of my despairing mood
I cannot turn away from the cool window
I am,for an instant, unaware of my bloodied wrist
For an instant,as I watch the rain,I am almost normal
Just someone observing the elements
But as my gaze settles to my side
I remember the horror of my bedroom
Where I put the knife against my pale skin
And quickly pulled it across the surface of my forearm
How the blood flowed to the threshhold
And began to run noiselessly in a downward motion
I look behind me now,and see the red trail I've left
At my feet lies a pool of my substance
Still silently I acknowledge my slow coming death
And wait for a few minutes, watching the rain, until my end
And the rain still falls, though I am no longer able to watch it
