The tugging of my jacket
By little hands

Waiting to go outside,
For their hot cocoa,
for Beauty and the Beast.

When outside,
The excitement,
Joy
The children show
At sliding down snow.

I lose myself there,
Immensed in the constand obliviousness
The children show;
The fake energy we have to show

And those hidden smiles between guys and girls.

A brief conversation leads to smiles
And nods while passing.
Secret glances and
Unknown looking-out-for.

The children inspire the friendship,
And make the lonliest of us
Feel loved.
