The bell tolls
As if condemning our far, yet so near, Death.

Boyfriends kiss their girlfriends
Goodbye.
"Until lunch" they say,
As if it's an eternity.

Friends walk to classes,
Gossiping about so-and-so,
Laughing about the weekend,
Or a movie.

Guys stare longingly at crushes,
Girls stalk crushes...
Hoping he doesn't see her.

Teachers usher students into classes
Then shutting the door.
Trying to get kids to be late
And be in trouble.

But such is life.

And the world keeps on turning.

Days pass

And all is the same.
