Daddy said he loved me,
those were his last words,
as he was whisked away on his cloud
out of my life like a sunset.
Now the sun never shines.
Daddy said he loved me,
before his chariot pulled away
to go to unknown places.
Tears for the first time in decades.
My throat a dry pit.
Every leaf fell when he left,
now it's always winter.
Daddy said he loved me,
as he packed his last suitcase
filled with fragments of his life;
Broken picture frames and spare change.
Leaving his home a wasteland.
Ground Zero.
Everyone is silent and blind.
They see no sunrises.
They speek no desperate yells.
Daddy said he loved me..

Then he was gone.
