Broken promises follow
every sworn word
The smiles do appear
when the words are heard
Then the tears do flow
when the promise is broken
Thus implanting fear
for every word now spoken
What words will be next,
those being a lie?
Or perhaps worse,
ones cruel enough to cry
Such words as these
should not be spoken
They cause much pain
when the promise is broken
