She sits there and wonders why
Why does she have to be the one who cries
“Why did this have to happen to me?”
She ask
She just doesn’t understand.

She had just went in for a normal check up
But, she came out with so much more.

The doctor called it leukemia
Said it was so bad
He gave her a month
He was sorry
But, there was nothing he could do.

She played it all over in her head
And the thought of dying scared he so much
She wouldn’t even half a family.

Days passed
And she finally had the courage to look in the mirror.

She wished she wouldn’t have looked
“Why?” Is all she could manage to speak.

Just then
Her body felt weak
Her legs numb
She fell to the floor in pain.

She couldn’t manage to yell for help
She knew she was dying.

At her grave
Friends looking on
Tears in their eyes
The boy
Who had haunted her all of her life
But, secretly loved her so much
He just didn’t know how to tell her
Walked to her casket.

Tears rolling down his cheeks
But, he didn’t even care
He layed a dozen flowers down
11 real 1 fake
And so gently whispered
“I’ll love you till the last one dies.”
