This is a poem i wrote for church:

A girl knelt upon her knees
In awe and fright of what she sees.
A light of holiness, strong and bright
God has come to her this night.
Claiming she need not be afraid
For upon His bricks her path is laid.
To her name Angels will sing
Mary, Mary, mother of Angels and the king.
Written in the stars and heaven above
Something sacred this way comes.

In this delicate girl
Hidden was hope for all the world.
She carried it faithfully day and night,
Doing what she felt was right.
Without tear, without complaint
Keeping humble, keeping quaint.
Waiting to deliver her joyous surprise
A new king will come to rise
Written in stars and heaven above
Something sacred this way comes.

Came an evening and the time was ripe
An angel blew upon a pipe
A star glinted blissfully
And all answered to God’s decree
He came upon the fragile girl
Who carried his plan for the world
Saying, “Mary Mary full of Grace,
Whose faith has led you to this place,
To your calling may you stand
Birthing a king for all the land”
Mary finished what she had begun
She gave birth to a son
The whole world began to sing
“Here is our holy king”
And upon the start of a new day
Something sacred came our way
