If only your reality existed....
If only one person could be what
you say you are,
the world might be saved.
Instead it feels like we are
being played, teased and tainted
by your honesty, honestly,
could anyone ever be as real as you?
Its too hard to hold that ideology,
run your life on simple symbology,
nothing is as simple as it seems
but you do have some wonderful dreams,
if only they could come true,
Instead, they'll live on only
inside of you.
Do you believe that what you say
might someday change the world?
I do, still, to this very day
and it makes me smile to play your
records as loud as I can stand
while driving in my car,
windows down, so your sound
will travel to ears all around
the world, the world
you want to shape.
We all feel your pain, everyday
in our own tortured lives.
Again it makes me smile to know
your thoughts....Smile to know
this enlightenment can be bought
right down the street
at your local record store.
Thank god for your sort of inspiration.
Thank you for believing in the good
in this nation, in its people,
in its god, you truly are
the man for this job.
