You held me close.
When I wanted to leave.
And just run away.
You held me back.
When I wanted to just
To leave my life and go astray.

You stopped me just before
I could let it all go.
And told me something
To change my world.

But I ran away.
And left you behind.
Yet you still found me.
And just held me closer.
Told me you couldn't stand
To let me give it away.

And for a time.
I truly hated you.
I thought,
You were always in the way.
Now I see I was in my own way.
And you doing nothing more
Than helping me falling in love with you.
While you already loved me.

But it was then to late.
I took to long.
Now you,
The only one who truly cared.
Are gone.
