Deception has taken its toll
It burns deep inside my soul
I’ve been betrayed, but my total is much worse
It settles as an unbreakable ugly curse
I deny my friends the being of my heart
And now my deception is breaking us apart
I have been lied to, and all the lies add up
It’s just barely enough to say I’m corrupt
The denial of the truth has settled in my mind
Putting my soul into a gridlock’d bind
I could rhyme of happiness, I could rhyme of sorrow
But I will never rhyme about tomorrow
