No More Room

After years of forgiving your misdeeds
I've slipped away from your demanding arms
Your cruel insults and controlling ways
Your harsh words no longer break my skin
And I'm no longer afraid of the power I once thought you had
The bruises you leave no longer give me pain
And I cry no more tears
Somehow I've gained the strength, the energy, the sheer will
To break free of the fear
Now I have my own power
And this feeling of freedom is amazing
The love that I thought was so great, so indestructible
I see now for what it really is
And it's an ugly sad thing
But I'm no longer afraid of being alone
I'm spreading my wings wide
And there is no more room
No more room for your cruelty, your lies, your betrayal
No more room for your pounding fists, your demands, your posession
No more room for your dictatorship, your hatred, your anger
No more room for your abuse, your sickness, your impatience
No more room for you
