A young girl
No more than 15
Through her eyes
The truth is seen
Her heart was torn
But her courage was strong
And she held her head up
Like nothing was wrong
She knew life was unfair
People lie, people cheat
And that life is nothing more
Than a place where heaven and hell meet
She walks through the door
A painted smile on her face
She glides down the halls
With such a perfect grace
But when she got home
The pain comes out
A pillow over her face
So no one can hear her shout
A gentle tear
Fell from her eye
But that was it
She was too strong to cry
But gaze into her eyes
And you will see
People aren't always
As they appear to be
