It seems so close
but yet...
Still so far away
Searching for meaning
in pictures of past
Only to cry a tear
Because it couldn't last
Day after day
And night after night
My thoughts are consumed
by you.
Well knowing the answer
But hating the choice
A future lost for you.
Couldn't I make you happy?
tell me what was un-seen
Breathing this life for you
Wanting something greater to be
I wish I could stop dreaming
These false memories of my sleep
They're only making me miss you
Even though we can't be
