Damn Lightning

Silent lightning floods the sky
Astonishing my tender eye
Streaming bolts accents the high
While I admire and do not deny
That in this dangerous empty field
There are forces I cannot wield
Beyond me the forces concealed
In natures breast in stone congealed
When suddenly I am struck hard
By lightning when off my guard
Nearly killing this faithful bard
And I lay helpless, burnt and scarred
But do not fret, for I am vigorous
I stood stout against the ominous
And took a blow for the curious
Let me say it was quite atrocious
