I prayed for you today
Thought long and hard for the words to say
“Help her lord let her know she has a purpose
Show her the true friends and help her stay for us
Let her know I care and love her with all my heart
For I saw in her a true beauty from the start
Show her not the girl she longs to be
But the beautiful girl she is the one I know you see
I know that you can do this lord
For you have done it to me”
That is what I said to him each word from my heart
And I know he heard me cause the clouds began to part
The light shined down in the most eloquent way
And all of this because I prayed for you today
