I hate to know your lonely
Even while I'm there.
To know you won't hold me,
Buries what's never there.
Consider me a thief,
Because I stole
What you never gave.
Your love is for another
but he will never seem the same.

Often I tried to tell you
What you mean to me.
Wile talking in the darkness
Around a blackened sea.
My soul grew so heavy
with every word you said.
Telling how much you loved him,
But wishing he was wasn't there.

With everyday that passes
I lose a part of myself.
By keeping in a secret
That I could never tell.
My love is everlasting,
If you would only see.
The one who stands before you,
The man I try to be.
