All Pretend

Broken hearts and falling tears,
He introduced me to new fears.
He stole my heart,
He made me cry, yet he said he loved me.

The truth came out when we broke up.
He was playing pretend.
He never loved me he never cared,
All his emotions he then shared.

Tears fell down my upset face,
As he yelled at me through cyberspace
Anger and sadness flowed through my veins.
Questions racing through my mind.
Was it really pretend?

All the I love you’s, hugs, and kisses,
They were all fake in the end.
But if there’s one thing I’ve learned from this,
Is to never play pretend.
Because you never know whose heart you’re breaking
On the other end.
