When that day came to say goodbye,
The day he would leave and never come back.
Slowly she dragged herself into the shower.
She had to look beautiful, for him to remember.
The day went by to fast and as she drove him to the base.
There were tears in her eyes.
As they got out of the car, he held her tightly, not wanting to let go.
The tears streamed down her face as she said don't go, but he kissed
those tears away.
He told her he loved herand that he'd come back.
The last thing he said was i promise i'll come back for you.
The day was the worst, and she'll never see him again.
For a year later there was a knock at the door.
She opened the door and saw two men standing there looking grim.
she knew what was wrong. and that she'd never see him again.
her thoughts went back to the Promise he made, and how she would never see
him again.
