the robot dog
was blue and bright,
it could multiply
and say good night,
made from chips
and a plastic shell,
it barked and waggled
its electronic tail,
the little boy
was an evil brat,
he stepped on bugs
and strangled cats,
every pet
he ever owned
never lived
now dust and bones,
his parents thought
a robot chien
would keep him busy
and be his friend,
but dreadful child
was not a chum
he banged the limbs
like a drum.
poor robot dog,
who barks your name,
such bad luck
a child so lame,
but even robots
can make a choice
one day it barked
then changed its voice,
little boy
why do you hate
i am just a robot
this my fate,
it raised its paws
and with great dispatch
revealed a barrel
beneath a latch,
and with a pop
a silence fell
the boy did drop
and the smoke did smell,
and up in heaven,
the boy did rise,
to golden gates
above his size,
there stood a desk
where the boy walked up
and with a chair
he climbed on top,
on the other side
there sat a friend
or so he thought
the robot chien,
the boy smiled
the dog grinned
the boy sighed
and knew
this was
the end.
