Here the virgin waits
sits on the steps
waiting for reality
to put her to the test

she has loved and lost
never given up
kept faith in the cross
waiting for something to evolve
in the world of sin and pain
she will dance in the rain

the virgin is innocent
holy and pure
dare she take reconcile
of her wounds
pray to her lord
about whom she desire
singing his name
her eyes light up
like fire

peaceful
dreaming
so sincere
she'll shout
his name
for all to hear

the Virgin does not judge
or scorn
she takes pride in who she is
with strength she was born

through her mind
she saves herself
through her soul
she saves time
the Virgin waits
she has no crime

her love runs so deep
the Virgin waits
for her saint
to rescue her
from the quiet

the Virgin waits
for he true love
the one she adores
she will wait
for eternity and forever more

Her love is much too great
so here she sits
the Virgin waits
