Lying awake in my bed
tears flowing down my eyes.
No one to go to for comfort
alone in the cold, dark night.
While you're home I smile brightly
'til you leave and the smile fades.
A darker evil comes out to play
and tears my soul away.
Taken over by the pain that has dwelled inside so long
unable to reclaim the part of me that’s gone.
But while you're home, I hide away inside
confusion, anger, and hurt take over.
And deep inside I know
I’ll stay this way forever.
