There she was standing in the shadows
Watching the world pass her by
A girl who’s heart was torn apart
By one asshole of a guy

Now that asshole of a guy
Is making her world change
He’s hurting her so much more
And making everything rearranged

So she hides in the shadows
So she won’t get hurt again
But he shines the light on her
As she fights to hide her pain

His name is carved into her leg
That’s why she never wore skirts
And the wristband hid his initials
Along with the long sleeved shirts

So now she just hopes he’ll see
How much he really meant
And perhaps now he’ll know
Her heart will never mend
