Someone She Never Met

Her clock is ticking
The music is blaring
Time is passing her by.
She never cared so much
About someone she never met.

The TV is on
The lights are off
And popcorn is in the microwave.
The Kleenex box is always half empty
And the trashcan next to her, half full.

Her mascara is runny and wet
Her eyes are not dry
And her nose is all red.
Crying, Crying, all night long
Over someone she never met.

Watching soap operas
Watching chick flicks
Seeing others’ love-lives flourish all day.
She weeps, never stopping
As the rain pours, never ceasing.
