An Animal

When you think of a tiger,
What is it that you see ?
Most people see an animal,
I see a man inside the beast
And untamed spirit,
As wild as the see.
Just as unpredictable,
Even more deadly.
‘Tween his jaw is not a rabbit
Nor the carcass of a doe.
‘Tis the heart of a young girl
Who’s love just did not know
That you cannot cage a tiger
Nor more than you could the wind.
His love, it is a free thing,
To chain him is a sin.
He knows not what he does
This noble beast, this predatory man.
To stay free is his only goal.
To break your heart, ‘twas not the plan.
